The “CEDIT Prize for Object” is the result of a collaboration with the miart section dedicated to emerging designers. The winning project, selected by an international jury, will be donated to the Permanent Collection of the Triennale Design Museum in Milan.

CEDIT – Ceramiche d’Italia continues its successful rise on the international stage. Since being relaunched by Florim during the Fuorisalone 2016, the brand has pursued an ever-closer synergy with the world of art and contemporary design, and now establishes a precious collaboration with miart.

“CEDIT Prize for Object” (“Premio CEDIT per Object”) is the award named after the brand which the Milanese fair has established for the forthcoming edition of the exhibition, and which will recognise the work of an emerging Italian designer, presented within the “Object” section of miart – dedicated to designer projects and limited editions by designers. The winning work, acquired by CEDIT, will subsequently be donated to the Permanent Collection of the Triennale Design Museum in Milan.

Spurred on by its own history and clearly defined identity – founded on four key pillars: creativity, innovation, quality and style – today the brand enthusiastically pursues its philosophy and with the “CEDIT Prize” it actively supports Italian art and design, which lie at the very core of its own DNA.

“We are proud to support Italian art and design through a prize named after the CEDIT – Ceramiche d’Italia brand, whose values and philosophy have always been based on a meaningful relationship between industry and creativity – points out Stefano Torrenti, CEO of Florim Ceramiche. The CEDIT Prize for Object is intended to actively enhance and strengthen this partnership, supporting, through miart, a work that will ultimately enrich the Triennale Design Museum’s Permanent Collection of Italian Design. The prize is another step in the project that sets out to make CEDIT the natural centre of gravitation of our nation’s most creative minds”.

The “CEDIT Prize for Object” lends added distinction to the recent rise of the brand, which began in April 2016 with the preview of the launch of the first six exclusive collections of ceramics, by six Italian Authors. In July CEDIT was the focus of the meeting “L’Arte del Design” (The Art of Design”) – in the framework of Guggenheim Intrapresæ – and in December it also inaugurated a monobrand Spazio next door to the Florim Flagship Store in Foro Buonaparte.
